Why do some beetles still shine so splendidly after so many millions of years? What stories can flower pollen tell us and what does a nose hair have to do with it? The anniversary exhibition at the Museum an der Grube Messel focuses on two groups of fossils from Messel that are otherwise easily overlooked due to their size, yet help to reveal the secrets of this unique fossil deposit from the Eocene: Insects and plants, or more precisely their relationship to each other.
